Buffer Fringe 2023 Co-Curator
Eleni Angastiniotu is a cultural instigator and curator involved in supporting, incubating, and promoting artists in Cyprus and abroad. Having worked in the cultural sector for over a decade within the diplomatic corps, as well as on a private basis, her experience includes curating and directing events for various artistic disciplines, many of which involved collaborations with prominent local and international artists.
Her current aim, as part of Visual Voices, is to guide and support team-based, research-led creative processes which seek to enhance community engagement and the cultural ecosystem by empowering creative practitioners.
As the Artistic Director of Visual Voices, Eleni is co-curating Buffer Fringe Festival 2023 together with Ahmad Baba. Her focus lies on emphasizing the power of art to challenge societal norms, amplify marginalized perspectives, and trigger social change. Therefore, The Buffer Fringe Festival is an ideal space for Eleni to continue pushing the boundaries of traditional festival structures and to commit to promoting inclusivity and experimentation.
As an advocate for cultural exchange, Eleni aims at empowering artists to reach the audience in a holistic manner that transcends identity-centric divisions.
